Enhanced Geographic Routing with One- and Two-Hop Movement Information in Opportunistic Ad Hoc Networks

چکیده
Opportunistic ad hoc networks are characterized by intermittent and infrastructure-less connectivity among mobile nodes. Because of the lack up-to-date network topology information frequent link failures, geographic routing utilizes location adopts store–carry–forward data delivery model to relay messages in a delay-tolerant manner. This paper proposes message-forwarding policy based on movement patterns (MPMF). First, one- two-hop neighborhood is exploited select nodes moving closer destination node. Message-forwarding decisions made referring selected nodes’ weight values obtained calculating contact frequency each node with Second, when relays vicinity message-carrying not qualified due sparse density nodal motion status, destination’s one-hop jointly utilized improve decision. If or away from it, its centrality value used instead. Based both synthetic real mobility scenarios, simulation results show that proposed performs incomparable efforts some typical policies, such as Epidemic, PRoPHETv2, temporal closeness centrality-based (TCCB), transient community-based (TC), geographic-based spray-and-relay (GSaR) policies.

Given the fact that a road is crowded at some sections and is not c...
متن کاملProbabilistic Routing in Opportunistic Ad Hoc Networks
Routing packets in multi-hop ad hoc wireless networks poses a great challenge mainly due to the unreliability of the wireless links and the inherent interference of the wireless medium [13]. Due to these characteristics, traditional wired routing schemes that select the best path towards a destination and forward the packet to a specific next hop, have proven ill-suited for networks utilizing t...
متن کاملOpportunistic routing with admission control in wireless ad hoc networks
It is challenging to provide QoS in wireless ad hoc networks, one of the main problems that affects QoS in wireless ad hoc networks is the multi-hop nature of the network. In the traditional routing, if one node at the optimal path is broken because of congestion or exhaustion of available energy, the whole path will be broken, and the source must re-route again. Opportunistic routing (OR) is a...
متن کاملAdaptive Routing in Ad Hoc Wireless Multi-hop Networks
Ad hoc wireless multi-hop networks (AHWMNs) are communication networks that consist entirely of wireless nodes, placed together in an ad hoc manner, i.e. with minimal prior planning. All nodes have routing capabilities, and forward data packets for other nodes in multi-hop fashion. Nodes can enter or leave the network at any time, and may be mobile, so that the network topology continuously exp...
متن کاملPerformance of ad hoc networks with two-hop relay routing and limited packet lifetime (extended version)
We consider a mobile ad hoc network consisting of three types of nodes (source, destination and relay nodes) and using the two-hop relay routing. This type of routing takes advantage of the mobility and the storage capacity of the nodes, called the relay nodes, in order to route packets between a source and a destination. Packets at relay nodes are assumed to have a limited lifetime in the netw...
